Central's Mission to Malawi
Sixteen disciples from Central are on a "Vision Mission" to Malawi to 'bring sight to the blind."
Entry for April 17, 2008

We have arrived safe and sound in South Africa and are staying at a lovely retreat center in Johannesburg.  We arrived at about 3:30 local time which is 7 hours later than Chippewa time.  South African Airlines was luxurious and the flight attendants were incredible.

All of our luggage made it as well!  The most stressful thing so far was the ride from the airport to our center as South African's drive on the other side of the road.  Some of us just closed our eyes.

We leave tomorrow morning for our flight to Lilongwe, Malawi and our adventure will continue.

We will continue to send this whenever we have internet access...

Keep up your prayers... they are working splendidly!

Aha, great to hear you've reached the African continent! If my calculations are correct, you are now in Malawi! I hope you've managed to sleep, and drink only bottled water. I also trust that the glasses have been located safe and sound, and the rest of the equipment Lon so carefully put together is ready to be used as well. Please keep up the postings if at all possible. God will bless your work; God has already blessed the congregation through this mission. I can only imagine what it will be like when you are blessed through giving sight...

God is good. And so are you all. Thank you for taking us with you, in heart and hope. God's peace to you.

Woo-hoo! It's exciting to hear you've arrived! We prayed for you at WellSpring Worship on Wednesday and wondered where you were at that moment. I promise I will pray for you daily! I am SO excited for all of you AND for all of the lives you will touch! God is good... I think I can hear you responding all the way from Africa. :)

You are truly living out Jesus' command to us, "Love one another." Thank you for uniting the church through the simple, yet significant work that God called each of you to do. Continue to follow those steps of Jesus and be Jesus to them. I am sure you are meeting Jesus through those fine people as well. God bless you!
